Pros and Cons of Pod Coffee Makers
Posted by podcoffeemaker on November 21, 2009
Single serve coffee makers are fantastic, but they’re not a fit for everyone. Consider the following before making your decision.
The Fabulous Pod Coffee Maker Features:
- Simple – all you need to do is to insert the capsule into the machine.
- Convenient – no need to measure out ground coffee for each brewing, just pop in a pod.
- Fresh coffee – the coffee is made one cup at a time, right when you are ready to drink it.
- No hassle cleaning – just remove used pod and throw away.
- Easy to try different flavored coffees – each serving is individually wrapped, no need to finish one large bag of coffee.
- Great tasting coffee – no grinds ever get into your cup.
- Stays fresh longer – the freshly roasted and ground coffee beans are sealed into specifically measured pods which remain fresh for at least 6 months.
The Drawbacks to the Single Serve Coffee Maker:
Non-compatible systems – when shopping, be careful to find a coffee maker that will fit many different size/styles of pods.
- Expensive – the pods themselves can be more expensive than using ground coffee, however some machines will take ground coffee or you can make the pods yourself. Although the pods may be a bit more expensive than traditional coffee, they are far less expensive than a cup from the coffee house each day.
- Not great for parties – if you are making coffee for 10 guests at a party, it could be time-consuming and tedious to make coffee one cup at a time. As an alternative, keep a traditional coffee pot in storage or allow guests to select and brew their own flavor.
If you are looking for a simple, easy way to make a variety of great flavors of coffee, then a Pod Coffee Maker is for you!
